For the most part, I am pretty sure you don’t need any explanation along with this post, worth a million words for sure. I do have to ask, what’s with the two retard camera guys in the background? Notice how their heads are touching, I am pretty sure they are sharing brain power, and damn, look at those “man hands” Paris is sporting!

Google Analytics and the SSL common name bug

I am sure you are all in the know of the new buzz, Google Analytics. You may not know, they used to be called Urchin, but all urls to the old site redirect to google now. So, yes, google bought them.
For my clients, Urchin worked well, it gave them the stats and data they need in regards to their website traffic. It seemed to handle the load of it’s users and
“just worked™”.
This is a small little bug report about Google’s new system. I happen to have a friend at a convention now, something to do with “search”, Google is there, we will see what they say.

Social Distortion at the Fillmore S.F.

Yes, I have a girlfriend who buys too many damn concert tickets. Well, the Liz Pahir thing was my idea, and something I planned on months ago, Social Distortion was hers. It’s surprising, as she knows less of them than I, and I do not really know crap about them, other than they are old.
I was a huge fan of their first release. As a matter of fact, I can say, about fifteen years ago, it was one of the first two CD’s I ever bought. Prison Bound pretty much sold me on them at that age.
Some quick comments:
- Mike, your pants are pulled up too high, you look like an old man, ooops, you are.
- They sounded really good, exceptionally good to be honest.
- The first two bands totally sucked, with the second being the worst, just cause they were from Liverpool.
- The double encore was cool, seeing as how half the people already left.
- Keep your God damn politics out of my punk rock.
- For all the good of the show, by not playing anything from your first release, you have effectively sold out and are playing to the LIVE 105 masses.

Liz Phair at the Fillmore S.F.

I got back a few hours ago from seeing Liz Phair at The Fillmore San Francisco. It was an OK show, and since I am filing this in the “Bitch and Moan” category, I am going to do just that.
Liz’s vocals were pretty spot on, I was amazed that what she does is not nearly as doctored up in the studio as I had thought. Then again, there was this mysterious electronic box she kept punching buttons on. Given there was a guitar change on every song, and sometimes in-between songs, I can imagine it was a little tough on the band. That being the case, the floor noise, aka: instrument hiss was insanely annoying. With that, I have a message to the sound board guy, get a fucking clue, why does every show at The Fillmore have to have the kick drum turned up so God damn loud? This is a small venue, not a hip-hop show, there is just no call for it.

My previous bug report was answered today, w00t! Here is what they had to say about it:
04-Nov-2005 02:55 PM Jeff Lemas:
Engineering has determined this issue behaves as intended based on the following information:
Please know that the volume is not universal. It is per movie volume and is saved in the movie’s user data.
First of all, they are wrong, there is NO saved state to any movie or audio file, set the volume to 0, close it, open it again, it’s back to 100%.
As for it being intended behavior, WTF! So, if I get in my car, and the stereo reverts back to 100% volume, this is acceptable, and can be passed off as intended behavior? Apple, seriously, this is insanely simple to fix, your engineering department is making themselves look stupid.
