As of about a week ago, as far as I can tell, craigslist.org will serve a blank page to users of Internet Explorer on the Macintosh. This affects, in my tests, OS 9 and OS X, version 5.2. I am not sure how earlier version deal with the issue, as I do not have the ability to test.
If you have IE on the Mac, simply try to go to the main page, you should see a totally blank page, as well as blank html source code.
I reported this issue, with my findings, to craiglist support, as of now, nothing more than a automatic email reply. I suspect it has something to do with the 307 redirect they are pushing out. Continue Reading… »»

John Gruber, he is a really good writer, I read his blog daily. A few weeks ago, he went full time, and blogs for a living. Congrats on that. He has consistently had awesome articles, if only a little sparse on the posting times. That has changed, he posts so much now I have a hard time keeping up.
Lately, it has been a lot of link posting, which is fine, I do it here as well. I always thought the guy checked out the links, and at the very least, gave them a once over for quality. Apparently not… Continue Reading… »»

I think we are at episode #3 now. This one starts with them driving to California. Apparently her parents are playing the role of managers. Of course, already screwing things up. They actually had to drive to a store and pick up a copy of her first release, a motion picture soundtrack. Now, call me crazy, but a good manager would have had pre-release copies next day aired to their artist. If the CD is in the store, it was in a production line at the least, a few months ago. There is no excuse for not being on top of this. What if they spelled her name wrong, any number of retarded things could have happened, that in this case, would not have been prevented.
Second item on the plate, practice play. I guess the little future star needed to get in some practice time. Her mom managed to set up, with the help of some other manager type, a show at a small club. This club was a cowboy bar type place. What the hell, what in the world is the point? You seriously could not find a better venue? Continue Reading… »»

I know, I am lame, totally into this stupid show. I think it was episode #2, the breakup episode, where she moved to L.A. and has to tell the boyfriend they are no longer together.
What a raw deal he got. According to the show, they have never humped. So, boyfriend gets a little slobber face, and that’s it. There is no doubt in my mind she is going to become famous, and this poor guy can not even brag about fucking her. The best he can say is “Yeah, we used to go out”. Continue Reading… »»

I really wish there were a few more seconds to this one. At any rate, I am sure it has happened to all of us at one time or another. Expected of guys, but the total secret norm for females.

I do not want to debate whether or not Greenday are punk rock or not. For me, they are, they defined it, those of you who disagree, fuck off, go listen to Sum 41. However, this is not to say you can not do things that defy everything punk rock stands for.
Welcome to the Greenday Idiot Club, where you too can really be an idiot, and help the band become not punk. Charging $20.00 to be able to hit up a message board, some audio and video, and wow, gain the privilege to buy their name on a shirt… not punk! Continue Reading… »»

Want to know what is really nice? I mean, super fucking fantastic AWESOME!!! Going to a website, and that website does not start playing really loud music at me. Less nice, playing loud music at me, but giving me no way to turn it down. Further down the niceness scale, allowing me to lower the volume, then when the damn track changes, popping it back up all the way again. I don’t fucking care what music you are into, if I did, I could read about it on your “about me” page.
if you are in a band, get a fucking clue, I am at your site, put a link up for audio samples, and let me download some of them. Using some shitty embedded player on myspace is not going to give me a boner. As a matter of facet, if your only space on the interweb is myspace, and you are trying to be in a band, bend over and try to suck the shit out of your ass, cause that is all you are ever going to be able to do. Oh, and perhaps get 5000 pre-teen add requests.

Google Browser Sync, yet another addition to the arsenal of things Google is offering. It seems as if there is one a week now. I think they even pushed out the spreadsheet thing this week as well.
In case you are totally in the dark, Google has an entire list of all they offer. The larger that list gets, the greater the chance the interweb is going to turn on them.

I asked Netgear support for some help with their router, in search of an answer to my previous issue. Below is how it all went down. My first inquiry to them is missing, but it amounted to a quick explanation and a request for immediate level escalation to I could get to a support person that would know what I was talking about. Ever want to know exactly what was installed by some application on OS X? I almost always do, when some application tells me it is installing 5000 files, I really want to be able to make sure I can get rid of all those files when I am done with it.
Enter WatchInstall, a small script I wrote to help me with this task:
This script will mark the time just before you install something, then run a find to locate all files newer than that time. Finally, a log is output on your desktop. Continue Reading… »»
