How does reddit search work?

I do not want to post a poll/survey/question right on reddit.com, as that trend to me seems annoying, however, I am baffled by reddit search. Perhaps if there was an advanced search option, I could look at the POST or GET args and see what it was up to, alas, I can not.

What I do know:
1) Profanity is not filtered out of search.
2) Subjects definitely are searched.

Why you never want a lime in your drink
Tuesday February 20th 2007, 3:31 am

Hit the bar up this weekend? Kettle One and Cranberry? Corona? Would you like lime with that?

In case you have not noticed, most bars are cesspools of disease, they come in the female form, and the invisible tucked away on some bartenders hands form. I just started noticing, but bartenders accept money with their hands, from the shadiest, dirtiest, piss and shit on your hands type of people on the planet, only to squeeze a little twist of lime in your drink.

mmmm poooo.

Mermaid top or bottom

Here is what I am thinking, I would go for the one on the left. The top half so to speak. She is cute, has tiny perky boobies, and I am pretty sure, mermaid rules state that they turn into humans if out of water for too long.

If not, what the hell, fish are pretty slippery, I am sure I could be happy fucking a slippery fish, I already know I am used to the damn smell.

Writing in synonyms may be hurting your blog

I am guilty of it as well, but to avoid repetition, writers will often use synonyms. Avoiding repetition is perhaps the one case in which I don’t mind the use of synonyms. However, once you start, it seems hard to stop, and every word I type has an itch to be changed to some other seemingly more fancy word.

I must stop this.

Disagreeing with ‘5 Changes Apple Needs to Make to Overtake Vista’

macinformant.com has a piece up titled 5 Changes Apple Needs to Make to Overtake Vista. Lets start with the list:

  1. Start selling Macs with the option of having Vista pre-installed.
  2. Aggressively market the Mac Mini and MacBook as two affordable PCs.
  3. Target the 80-million plus people who own iPods.
  4. Target the techie population or perhaps more importantly, the much larger population
  5. Remove the misconceptions that people hold about Macs.

Youtube effectively made video ‘compatable’ and Apple still does not care

Do you remember only a few years ago, as a Mac user, and often times a Windows user, what a pain video on the internet could be? I certainly do, it was a total crap shoot, unless the video file was quicktime, chances were I would get audio only, or nothing at all. Worse, if *I* could see the video, emailing a link or file to a PC friend always proved challenging.

Thanks to youtube.com those days are long gone. Shoving a video inside a Flash wrapper was the most genius aspect of their business model. It is also one that seems to go without mention. Most people think youtube is great for the content, I on the other hand think it is great for the compatibility of it all. I even think those of you who cater to using the penguin are covered as well.

Determine your tolerance for pain, aka: Kaiser is stupid
Sunday February 18th 2007, 3:21 am

For a long time I have thought my girlfriend is a crybaby when it comes to dealing with discomfort. I have no idea how to compare her threshold for pain to that of mine. About the best I can come up with is ice water, and seeing who can shove their arm in it the longest. If I can do it twice as long as her, my tolerance for pain would be twice as high. Then again, issues like body fat probably play a role in this as well.

This brings me to getting really friggin sick this week, and wanting some meds to make me be able to just sleep it off. Then I remembered, Kaiser has this whole pain thing figured out, they use the 1-10 bubble scale. A chart, on the wall, where they ask you how much pain you are in, 1 being not much, and 10 being a whole lot. Numbers in bubbles, super scientific!

I have shares in an online broker, and they are no longer online

Ok, this is a long shot, but I have no idea what to do about this, so I thought I would ask on my blog and see what happens in cases like this.

Several years ago, I dumped a few thousand bucks into a Suretrade.com account. I played around, made a little, lost a little, and left the rest in emusic.com
