Can we even recover from bad presidents, or is it too late?

I don’t know that much about the political system and how it works. What I do know, is that I have seen some bills/laws signed into action lately that are in a word, silly. I am sure my few readers have other words for them, regardless, I feel like we are moving towards a police state.

I am looking for comments and answers to set me at ease about all this, or, just tell me to move to another country, where I don’t have to worry about this.

If we fast forward a few years, Bush is out of office, and we have a sane president. Is it even possible for him/her to reverse the retardation that is being slipped under our noses? I am not so much talking about the huge ordeal that is the middle east, but more the laws, bills, and civil liberty eroding crap that has been fast tracked past us all.

In all my life, I don’t think I can recall something being overturned, aside from perhaps slavery. Are we doomed to only move forward from our currently assfucked position?

There are no ‘bad presidents’ in my opinion. Now, there are ones that have different personal agendas than I may have..but none that have been bad.
If you are feeling overwhelmed with our country’s status, I would encourage you to visit another country. See how they live. Do they have freedom to say whether a leader is good or bad opening? You may oppose the war, but it is all the years of wars that have given us freedom. Look at Canada..It takes months to get in to a specialist in the medical field. No need to ask for a second opinion, that would not be granted. Some here complain about HMOs…
Second, the state of our country is never at fault on just one president. It is easy to place the blame on just one, but in truth it is the total of several. Many are to be at blame for the events taking place.
Many things have been overturned since slaverly. Womens right to vote is one. As another, before Martin Luther (not King) of the Middle Ages is another overturned event. His strong will for the people to have access to form their own opinions outside of the leaders of the Catholic faith by presenting the Protestant faiths to the world. They are slow in coming, but should not be forgotten for these things have changed the course of history.
What you can do about it…vote and write your congressman. Beat feet and petition the changes you desire to see in place. It takes work…and just think, there would be a large section of the people of this country that would view your hard work as insufficient. Why? Different personal agenda!
