I’m Thirsty and Mysterious

For some reason lately I have been drinking a lot of water. I have no idea what is making me so thirsty, yet without fail, I wake up at 6AM and have to down two full glasses. This of course reeks havoc with that game we all play; trying to sleep when we know we are going to have to get up to take a piss. No matter how hard you try, you are going to end up taking your ass to The John eventually.

All this water drinking got me wondering. What is it that is so satisfying about water? I totally get the whole food thing, you are actually putting solid mass into your stomach, I can see how that gives you a feeling of satisfaction. There is the whole taste aspect of food as well, which in and of itself is satisfying aside from the actual food you are eating.

But what is it about water, an otherwise flavorless liquid that once drank gives you a feeling of “quenchdedness”? Google was rather worthless on this one, which did not surprise me. There has to be something that is happening chemically inside your brain to let you know that you just drank, therefore you are no longer thirsty. It’s just weird, and it’s buggin’ me.
