“Impeach Bush”, a classic liberal knee jerk reaction
Saturday March 10th 2007, 2:50 am

As of this writing, there is one truth I know, reddit.com is littered with posts about kicking President Bush out of office. The vocal users of reddit will post in the comments how sick they are of these posts and polls, regardless, the posts get voted up. The casual user will get the point, the internets at large do not like Bush.

You liberals are, as usual, going about this all wrong. If you really want to make change, stop being so reactionary. Take your goal and put it in a forward thinking perspective. Impeaching Bush is in no way forward thinking.

The best thing you can do is to put your efforts towards something that will make this a better country, let’s look at the facts.

In 2008, we will get a new president, this is unavoidable, Bush’s term is up, and a new guy, or gal, will be moving in to take over operations. Even if there was much more widespread momentum to impeach Bush, at best, we would wave him a goodbye very close to the date in which he will naturally be leaving office. It is wasted effort for a very small gain. It may even be a bad move…

A close second to the impeach Bush posts on reddit are the poke at Vice President Cheney posts. Do we really want to trade one retard for another? In the end, is there really any difference between the sticky slimy drool of retard #1 versus retard #2?

Come on liberals, get your shit together this time, stop wasting your efforts on the most radical and noisy ideas, and put your energy into the more subtle and smart ideas. Imagine if reddit was not littered with Bush posts, but instead, had thought provoking posts on what we want of our new President. Bring more awareness to the shady erasure of our civil liberties so the next President can reverse those things. Make as much noise as you are now, but do not bother to even use the name Bush in your posts. Bush is set in stone, it is time to move on.

I am more concerned about the changes to our freedom that Bush has secretly pushed through our government than any of the major issues that will be discussed in the 2008 Presidential Debate. Do not allow our new presidential candidates to skip over the subtle yet highly important issues.

Discussion needs to start now, and awareness needs to be raised. The people need to make it clear that Bush’s actions need to be reversed. Everything from religion in schools, evolution, wiretapping, all the future “police state” issues must be re-addressed. I do not want to spend months hearing about the war. We all know the war must be addressed, and I am certain it will. Looking forward, as insensitive as this may sound, the war is not as important an issue as are our freedoms and civil liberties.

So please, do not let me wake up to a new President who has no idea what to do other than patch the war efforts up. Please do no let me wake up to a world where this very blog may not be allowed, even though that may not be such a bad thing.

In a nutshell, think Democrat, but work like a Republican, you may just end up making this country a nice place live.

The point of impeaching both cheney and Bush is not to get them out of office. Like you said they will be leaving anyway. The point of impeaching those two is to send the message to future presidents that it is not okay to abuse your power and you will pay for it. There is plenty of support for impeaching Bush it was one of the three things that let dems sweep the government.

Peeple, I see your point, my concern is that “impeach” is taking over the press and internet media. There are a lot of ignorant, or politically uneducated, or just plain uneducated people in the USA, I feel it is more important to get them up to speed on what a new president needs to work on, rather than sending a message to new presidents that they can not abuse power.

Our new president will be walking a tight rope in regards to power abuse, and the “impeach” mantra will ring much louder early in a new term. I just don’t see power abuse being an issue with a new president, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me…
