Spam Karma and Wordpress 2

If you updated WordPress, and did not make it to Spam Karma 2.1, you may have some problems. I certainly did. The comment counter was not being updated, so it always said 0 comments, even when you were looking at a few comments just below that notice.

Apparently, you must be on Spam Karma 2.1 to resolve this. This also means going and posting a dummy comment to all your 0 comment posts, then deleting it, which will recover it all back to normal.

As a side note, this plug in is simply amazing, check it out, it just works™.

I am having just this problem after upgrading from wordpress 1.5 to 2.0. I can’t recall if I’m on spam karma 2.1 but I’ll try this out. Thanks for the hint.

Actually, there’s an easier way: simply go to SK2’s “Approved Comment” screen and select the last few comments (those for which the count is out of date), then click re-process them all using the controls above. This should update all your counts.

Cheers.

[...] UPDATE: I fixed it. Apparently, you shouldn’t upgrade to WordPress 2.0 unless you’ve previously upgraded your version of Spam Karma to 2.1. Thanks to Formulate Affinity for having this up on their blog. [...]
