I found this list online the other day, of all the various versions of Windows that are floating around out there. It was suiting, as my friend and I were making fun of the names over coffee not too long ago.
Here is my email to him:
This is just… Bad
Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (and 2005 UR2), Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005, Windows XP Home and Professional N Editions, Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2, absolutely a big Windows upgrade), Windows XP Embedded, Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs, and Windows XP Starter Edition in various language
His reply, which will probably get people all pissy, but just take it for humor value:
Kurt,
I cant believe it…
You left out Microsoft Windows XP 2006 Multi-National Corporate Ultra-Turbo Edition for SmartPhones with Microsoft Security Flaw Patcher Pack v11.11.1.0.1b (Media Center Ready - purchased seperately)
And of course…Microsoft Windows XP Negro Edition (codename: Windows Freestyle) with Bass Pack 2 and Bling Themes (all accessibility options have been turned on and default language is North Afro-American or Ebonics. Also the “Games” folder has been renamed “Game” and the start button now reads “Wut ya fittin’ ado?”)
But really… That list is ridiculous
